“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captive and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.” (Isaiah 61:1-3, NIV)

Mission Statement

We are a team of members with diverse cultural, church, and ministry backgrounds but sharing mutual faith. Our foundational faith is inspired by the core principles of The Apostles’ Creed. We welcome as well as invite partnering with ministries and churches who have core beliefs in line with ours.

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic (whole, universal) Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

Statement Of Faith

Although born in a Scandinavian country, Tina spent most of her childhood in a Southeast Asian country with her missionary parents. While it was a privilege to serve the ostracized and underprivileged community from an early age, Tina and her family experienced several challenges and difficult circumstances in this region as they consistently faced frequent marginalization, dangerous threats, and dense spiritual darkness. Living under these challenging circumstances also laid the foundations for a strong faith, exposure to the mission field, experience with inter-and-intra ministry divergences, and an immense understanding of the importance of resilience – discerning when to surrender to the Lord and when to put on the Armor in the battlefield -but always clinging firmly to the faith during the toughest seasons.

Our Story

With you in upholding transparency and advocacy,

Thus, the Advocate International organization was launched in December 2024 – a miraculous demonstration of God’s powerful plan in motion.

After moving to the United States as a young adult, Tina found herself surrounded by
opportunities to serve others through her career, godly friendships, community, and church family. Still, her heart was drawn back to another mission field as she reflected on her past and ongoing experiences and the meaning that had since been assigned to the trials and tribulations she had endured as a child and an adult. She recognized her increased empathy for the oppressed and enslaved, abused and bonded, and shunned and marginalized; she continued to grow in her understanding of power dynamics and abusive leadership; and she became driven to mitigate – and ultimately eliminate –these corrosive factors that destroy communities physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Tina continued to believe that there is a greater purpose in living through the hurtful, painful, and difficult seasons.

Your friends at Advocate International

A sense of urgency developed as Tina, again, found herself impacted by a spiritual
rollercoaster of turmoil, - one marked by targeted and abusive patterns of manipulation, specious narrative, separation, and conspiracy within her once-trusted and idealized religious community + seven years ago. In the midst of this darkness in 2024, in obedience to her calling, Tina was fueled by her desire for biblical Truth, justice, character, and transparency to be at the core of ministry. She was called to a greater purpose she was now equipped to fulfill – one that she would find was not only God-ordained and perfectly orchestrated in a way that only He could do, but also one that was beautifully aligned with her late mother’s vision and prayer for the future of her family’s ministry: To serve, educate, advocate for the suffering, hurting, and spiritually misled at an international level.

Tina and her dedicated team members – many of whom have been scarred by abuse, injustice, and oppression themselves – are now determined to advocate for others who are facing battles in the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual realms. They prioritize spiritual discernment, empathy, peace, unity, spiritual and emotional maturity, mental health awareness, and urgent and appropriate responses to crises. They seek to identify the root causes of community breakdown, confront damaging behaviors, fight the toxic spiritual forces, and build healthy, safe, strong, and spiritually nourished communities. They aim to provide education to a new generation of leaders, empowering them with evidence-informed, ethics-driven, empathetic, and biblically sound practices that will enable communities to thrive in the long term, both locally and globally.

What is meant for evil, God can mean for good.

The team at Advocate International believes that all humans are valuable, and difficult circumstances lead to a purpose — the higher one’s calling, the fiercer the battle. We hope to encourage and embolden you in your journey toward Truth and justice. You are not alone as you seek to live your vision and pursue your calling – and the One who called you. We stand with you. Would you stand with us?
